ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & POVERTY ALLEVIATION

Poverty alleviation is a necessary component in the achievement of development in a country as it is not only economic developmentthat contributes to overall growth. Together with poverty reduction the even distribution of income andequal sharing of the benefits of economic growth with the poor, need consideration as priority requirements for attaining development.

GOOD GOVERNANCE

According to this definition, good governance is, participatory; consensus oriented; accountable; transparent; responsive; effective; and efficient, equitable and inclusive; and follows the rule of law. In addition,it seeks to ensure that corruption is minimized, the views of minorities are taken into account and that the voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard in decision-making. It is also responsive both to the present and future needs of society.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & CLIMATE CHANGE

Environment has been in the spotlight like never before, due to an accelerated global drive towards economic development proving to be the norm.
